This will give them a chance to work on positive choice-making and deal with being upset. Botley is a great way to learn and practice social-emotional learning and a great incentive to excellent behavior. So before you pick the first student to take the pet home, have a class vote to name the pet. Ask for suggestions from students, and then write them all down!
